No minimum

I never thought I'd have the kids asking for broccoli, but roasted in the air fryer with those slightly charred, crispy little tops, they actually do. It's done in under ten minutes and tastes so much better than the sad steamed version I grew up on.

How to air fry broccoli

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Add the fresh broccoli to the basket. Don't pack the basket.
  3. Cook for about 8 minutes, flipping or shaking halfway through.

Pro tip

Toss with garlic salt and oil for a great side dish.

How to tell when it's done

It's ready when the florets are tender with crisp, browned edges - I give it a toss halfway so the tops char evenly. A minute more if you like it softer, a minute less for more bite.

Converting from an oven recipe

If your recipe is written for a conventional oven, lower the temperature by about 25°F (15°C) and reduce the time by roughly 20% to land near 375°F for 8 minutes. Need a different starting point? Use the conversion calculator.

Air fryer broccoli: FAQ

How long does it take to air fry broccoli?

Air fry broccoli at 375°F (190°C) for about 8 minutes, flipping or shaking halfway through. That's for 1 head (florets) in a single layer; adjust slightly for a fuller basket or a different model.

What temperature do you air fry broccoli at?

Do I need to preheat the air fryer for broccoli?

A 2-3 minute preheat gives the most accurate timing and the best browning, but it isn't essential - if you skip it, add a minute or two to the cook time.
