These have become my shortcut roast potatoes for when I can't be bothered with a whole tray in the oven. A little oil and seasoning, and they come out crisp at the edges and fluffy inside with barely any fuss.

How to air fry cubed potatoes

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (195°C).
  2. Add the fresh cubed potatoes to the basket. Shake every 5 minutes.
  3. Cook for about 20 minutes, flipping or shaking halfway through.

Pro tip

Toss in oil and seasoning before adding to the basket.

How to tell when it's done

I look for deep golden, crisp edges and a piece that crushes easily with a fork. A couple of shakes makes sure every side browns, not just the bottoms.

Converting from an oven recipe

If your recipe is written for a conventional oven, lower the temperature by about 25°F (15°C) and reduce the time by roughly 20% to land near 380°F for 20 minutes. Need a different starting point? Use the conversion calculator.
